<P>By the 1880's, the band was a vibrant and active group. </P>
<P>In 1886, the Hanna Block burned down, taking with it the band's library, instruments and uniforms, but they were active again within months. The photo by Jackson shows them in 1885. The other photo comes from 1889 and shows them at their most elegant.</P>
