  The 1930's

 

By the 1930's the band had fully recovered from the brief collapse in the early 1920's. In 1930 Old Home Week was revived and a large a healthy band appeared for the celebration.

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

By 1935, many young players from Franklin High School had joined, encouraged by Art Hanna, music teacher and by their own experiences in Franklin's first high school band. In this photo, Roy Smith appears in the drum major uniform at the left, while Professor Charles Ackley appears to the right.
