In 2006, band member and historian Peter Greene published Musical Service: The Life and Times of the Franklin Silver Cornet Band. The book tells the story of the band's first 150 years and provides a picture of the lifeof a typical American town band. It also shows how the band reflects the culture and history of the oil region, as well as chronicling several of the other important bands of Venango County which, though they are not still with us today, are an important part of the band's history.
